The purpose of the work here described was to obtain general information regarding the effective capacity, effective resistance, true capacity, true inductance, and wave-length, as well as the transmitting directional effect of various types of aeroplane antennæ. In addition to trailing antennæ of one, two, and four wires, the constants of various fixed antennæ were measured in an attempt to find a satisfactory substitute for the trailing wire at shod wave-lengths. All the results obtained are exhibited in graphical form.
