A. W. Stevens Co. Factory Marinette, Wis A.W. Stevens & Sons was founded by Abram W. Steven's in 1842, in Genoa, NY. In 1878 it was destroyed by fire and the firm moved to Auburn, NY. In 1898 the firm reorganized as the A.W. Steven's & Co. and moved to Pierce Avenue in Marinette, WI. The firm remained in operation until 1910. They went out of business following a lawsuit with the Avery Company over patent infringements with an undermounted traction engine.
