Initially the author went to Russian Armenia with Mr. Harold Buxton's party from the Lord Mayor's Armenian Relief Fund, which was under the Red Cross, where she worked as a nurse in a hospital at Van, however this is not covered in the book. Print pages 7 and 8 include her subsequent volunteer work in Russia, including with the "Friends' War Victims' Committee" Unit for 2 years, and subsequently with Armenian refugees.
