PDF PAGE 10, COLUMN 7 BURKE INDICTED FOR PERJURY SUBORNATION The Grand Jury, Thursday afternoon indicted C. W. Burke, the Special Investigator for the Leo Frank Defense, under a Charge of Subornation of Perjury. The indictment was returned upon the testimony of Helen Ferguson, the girl witness for the prosecution, who testified before the jury that Jimmy Wrenn, a youth, said to have been associated with Burke, had offered to marry her if she would retract her trial statement. Bond of 42,500 was furnished by Burke. His connection with the Ferguson girl’s accusation, it is said, is an alleged attempt to get her to change her testimony upon a visit to the office of Luther Z. Rosser.
