PDF PAGE 1, COLUMN 2 BURNS TO BE OUSTED BY THE POLICE CHIEF Detective Will Not Be Toler- ated Because of His Conduct in the Frank Case. Grand Rapids, Mich., June 15.—Detective William J. Burns is in bad with the International Association of Chiefs of Police and when the convention revises the list of honorary members tomorrow his name will be stricken from the list. His recent activities in the Leo Frank Case, in which he attempted to clear the Atlanta man of a Charge of Murder after he had been convicted of the crime and sentenced to die, roused the Police Chiefs all over the United States. Also because of his publicity tactics, Burns has incurred the disfavor of the Members of the Association and the Frank Case brought to a climax. At first it was the plan of some of the Delegates to oust Burns through resolutions, but at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Association today, it was decided to revise the list of honorary Members of the Association and; when the list is presented to the Convention for Adoption, Mr. Burns’ name will be missing. Those back of the move to oust Burns, come from the East and the South. The Southern Delegates are the most rabid against his name
