The copyright registration cards from the United States Copyright Office. Each collection is a drawer of cards. There are 222 drawers. Discrepancies: In the Copyright Office's system, CC18701897NORTO-NYVALL0585 required multiple card sides. Most of the time when this happens, ascending letters are appended to the card number. The first card is, for example, 0585a, followed by 0585b and so on. In this case, they were inexplicably "0585" and "0585a." For consistency's sake, 0585 has been renamed "0585a" and 0585a has been renamed "0585b." This is the only example of this inconsistency in this index, but it does recur in other indexes.
